About Us

I created The American Worker Plans in 1992 after identifying a need for providing affordable health insurance for working Americans.  Often, lower paid employees are excluded from participation in primary major medical programs, or even if made available, are beyond their budget.

Correspondingly, we created a fully insured, but highly affordable, limited benefit medical plans, with a focus to cover basic and preventive health care services.

It is most important that people understand that our plans should never be used to replace any comprehensive major medical coverage that a person has or may have access to.  Clearly communicated in both their benefits and limitations, programs such as ours can provide valuable basic medical protection, and the health insurance card is your access to the American health care system.

In this specialized marketplace we are proud to serve employers of all sizes, which include some of America’s largest employers. We work with five national “A” rated carriers, so that we can provide benefits on a consultative basis. These programs can be customized to the individual financial circumstances of each employer and their employees.

While the national debate on health reform continues, we believe that change is essential. Hopefully, It will take place over the years in a thoughtful, but systematic manner. Employers are struggling to maintain existing major medical coverage and are finding the need for alternative group plan designs with real world cost control options in a challenging economy.  That is why our expanding portfolio of programs, such as gap and critical illness plans, can help fill the void created by high deductibles or co-pays, as well as offer a valuable option for large claim protection.
